Who we are

Founded in the late seventies, Oxford Ice Skating Trust (OXIST) started out as a campaigning and fundraising group to get a permanent ice rink built in Oxford.  When that objective was achieved in 1984, the trust was wound up, and some of its members formed Oxford Ice Skating Club.  The purpose of the new club was to run group sessions at the new rink, but the old name OXIST stuck.  Today, Oxford Ice Skating Club is an umbrella organization affiliated to British Ice Skating, and responsible for running three club sessions a week at Oxford Ice Rink.
